Where do you catch Grab at the airport? — By terminal
All international flights arrive at T2. Domestic flights use T3, opened 2025-04-17, and T1, used by Vietjet.

For domestic connections, take the free electric shuttle between terminals: T2 → T1 → T3, 04:30–00:35, every 15–20 minutes (as of April 2025).
Distance, time and airport fee
- The airport is about 6–8 km from District 1: 15–25 minutes when quiet, 45–60 minutes at rush hour or in rain.
- Airport charges can vary by terminal and route. GrabCar’s June 2025 guidance lists no airport surcharge for trips from T3 and a 9,000 VND surcharge for trips to T3. Check applicable charges in the app and with your driver.
- If a driver asks for more than the app fare plus this fee, do not pay on the spot; contact the app's support first.
Boarding at the airport
- Get data before leaving arrivals. No eSIM? Open the app on the airport Wi-Fi.

- The pickup zone is wherever the app points you.
- Car plate = app plate; check the driver's name too. If anything differs, don't get in.
- With lots of luggage or in rain, take a car instead of a bike.
- Compare Be and Xanh SM the same way and take the cheaper one.
Phrase for when it's not your booked driver
When using Grab, check the app booking and vehicle details (plate, driver name).
Them "Grab? I am Grab. Come."
You "I booked on the app. I'm fine, thanks." / "I already booked in the app."
Follow them and you ride with no meter and no app — and may pay far more than the app fare. Even if they speak your language, don't get in.

In August 2026 police caught a taxi driver who demanded about 2,960,000 VND from a foreign passenger for a ride from the airport to District 7. Booking in the app and not bargaining outside it avoids this.
What changes in 2026
- Long Thanh International Airport was reported on 5 October 2026 to be targeting commercial operations from 24 December, according to operator ACV. The schedule and which flights move to Long Thanh may change; confirm the arrival airport with your airline. Báo Xây dựng · 2026-10-05 Long Thanh is much farther from District 1, so the fare table above will not apply.
- Metro Line 6 (airport to Phu Huu in the east, not a direct District 1 link) had not started construction as of July 2026 (groundbreaking planned for late 2026, opening targeted for 2030).
