Ho Chi Minh City Airport T2–T3 Transfers: International and Domestic Flights
When connecting between international and domestic flights at Tan Son Nhat Airport, confirm the next flight’s terminal and baggage instructions before travelling.
Power Banks on Vietnam Flights: Checked and Cabin Baggage Rules
Sources checked 27 October 2026. Flight and shuttle arrangements can change; reconfirm with the airline.
Check the next flight’s terminal
T2 handles international flights; domestic flights depart from T1 or T3 depending on the flight. Check your booking and operating airline, as terminal assignments may change.
Moving between T1, T2 and T3
Vietnam Airlines says T1 and T2 are connected on foot, while T3 requires a shuttle or taxi from either terminal. Confirm the free airport shuttle’s current stop and operation with airport signs or staff, and allow for waiting and traffic.
Baggage and immigration
Vietnam Airlines describes an international-to-domestic connection with one transfer point, flights operated by Vietnam Airlines and a connection under five hours. Under that guidance, passengers collect baggage after entry, complete customs and hand it to airline staff for onward transfer. Procedures depend on the operating airline, ticket and direction of travel. At the departure airport check your baggage tag and ask where to collect and recheck it; do not assume the same process for every connection.
If the connection is tight
Ask your airline immediately about the correct terminal, check-in cutoff, gate, baggage and entry requirements. Assistance may differ for separate tickets and a single booking. Do not assume a connection is guaranteed without airline confirmation.
Do all domestic flights leave from T3?
No. Domestic flights use T1 or T3; confirm the terminal for your particular flight.
Is baggage transferred automatically?
It depends on the flight and airline. Check the baggage tag and whether customs collection and rechecking are required.
